First, check that the water heater has been given adequate time to warm (approximately 60-90 seconds after activation). Access the settings menu via the remote control and verify your temperature is set between levels 1-5. If the issue persists, check that your water supply line is properly connected and the shut-off valve is fully open. Our troubleshooting guide provides additional diagnostic steps.

Clean the ceramic bowl weekly with non-abrasive cleaners. The bidet nozzle features self-cleaning technology but should be manually cleaned monthly using the nozzle cleaning function in the settings menu. Wipe the seat and exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Never use harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on any electronic components or the seat surface. The stainless steel nozzle can be gently cleaned with mild soap and water.

Check that the auto-open feature is enabled in settings (it may have been turned off accidentally). Ensure nothing is blocking the motion sensor located on the front of the unit. Clean the sensor area gently with a soft cloth. Verify the unit is receiving power by checking if other functions work. If equipped with battery backup, replace batteries. Reset the system by unplugging for 30 seconds, then reconnecting.

HEIM models with WiFi connectivity will automatically download and install firmware updates when connected to your network. You can manually check for updates in Settings > System > Software Update. For models without WiFi, firmware updates are installed via USB drive - visit our downloads page to get the latest version and detailed instructions. We recommend keeping your toilet's firmware up to date for optimal performance and new features.

Yes, the toilet will flush normally during a power outage as the flush mechanism is gravity-fed and does not require electricity. However, electronic features including the bidet, heated seat, auto-open lid, and dryer will not function. Models equipped with battery backup will maintain limited functionality for essential features like seat heating and bidet operation for up to 7 days.

Our toilets are EPA WaterSense certified, using just 1.28 gallons per flush (GPF) for the full flush and 0.8 GPF for the light flush option. This represents a 20% water savings compared to standard 1.6 GPF toilets. Over a year, a family of four can save approximately 13,000 gallons of water.
